Reckon you've got what it takes to face the likes of Phil Ivey and Todd Brunson at the poker table, live and in the flesh?

If the answer to that question is 'Yes, apart from the bankroll' then be sure to circle next Friday, December 1 in your calendar. These Hall of Famers will be joined by a number of A-list poker luminaries at the World Poker Tour's meet-up game at Wynn Las Vegas, and to join them at the tables all you need to do is...show up. For next week, at least, the usual Friday night home game can wait.

Take on the big guns (and Conrad) at $1/3 and $2/5

PokerOrg's Conrad Simpson will be playing in the Premier Meet-Up Game, hosted by Brad Owen and Andrew Neeme, alongside the following household names (in my household, anyway):

  • Phil Ivey
  • Todd Brunson
  • Ethan 'Rampage' Yau
  • Jamie Kerstetter
  • Tony Dunst
  • Vince Van Patten
  • Lynn Gilmartin
  • Matt Savage
  • Ashley Sleeth
  • Caitlin Comeskey
  • Angel Guillén
  • Nikki Limo
  • Jaman Burton

To ensure the game is within reach of all poker players and fans, the blinds will stay at $1/3 and $2/5, with no limit hold 'em and PLO games spread across 28 tables in the Wynn Las Vegas poker room. The action starts at 9am, so set an alarm.

Come for the MUG, stay for the Prime?

The WPT World Championship event will boast a record-breaking $40 million guarantee when it kicks off on December 12, but players without a $10,400 buy-in in their pocket will still have plenty to play for if they stick around after the meet-up game. The WPT Prime Championship has a $1,100 buy-in and a guaranteed prize pool of $5 million. The first of four Day 1s is on December 7, with the final TV table taking place on December 19.

You can find out more about the MUG right here, with details of the WPT Prime Championship over here. PokerOrg will be at Wynn Las Vegas for the whole WPT festival, reporting all the action and news from what promises to be an unmissable close to the year, so make sure you come and say hi.
