  • Heads-up NLHE

  • 8-Game Mix
  • Badugi

  • 6-Max PLO
  • NLHE

WCOOP League and 2023 winners’ freeroll make their debuts

Following a similar twist in the Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) earlier this year, a new WCOOP League will run throughout the series with six teams competing for bragging rights. These will be captained by PokerStars ambassadors Lex Veldhuis, Ben ‘Spraggy’ Spragg, Fintan ‘easywithaces’ Hand and Parker ‘tonkaaaa’ Talbot, as well as two mystery team captains who will be announced at EPT Barcelona next week.

Players who won a WCOOP event in 2023 will also be invited to an exclusive freeroll on September 14, where $50,000 in series tickets, including Main Event entries, will be awarded. Last year’s winners include the likes of Benny ‘RunGodLike’ Glaser and Patrick ‘pads1161’ Leonard (below), the latter of whom edged out Glaser for the Player of the Series title in the very last tournament.

A number of Women’s events are also on the schedule, including four special tournaments on September 28-29 which will reward winners with £1,200 packages to the £100K GTD Women’s Winter Festival in London this November.

Patrick Leonard won 4 WCOOP titles en route to the Player of the Series win. Patrick Leonard won 4 WCOOP titles en route to the Player of the Series win.
