The Moneymaker Tour concluded its return to the Daytona Beach Racing and Card Club yesterday. Florida-native Aaron Speer kept the Main Event trophy within the confines of his home state, outlasting the field to claim the top prize of $87,790.
The $1,500 Moneymaker Main drew a field of 296 entrants over the three Day 1 starting flights, smashing the $300,000 guarantee in the process and attracting players from all over the world. Moneymaker PBKC Main Event champion Bryce McVay made a deep run, finishing in 15th, but Speer was the chosen one this time around.
For his efforts, Speer collected the cash, a custom autographed Moneymaker Tour logo painting, and the coveted Moneymaker crystal trophy.

Moneymaker Tour set for Vegas and beyond
As the Daytona stop was reaching its finale, the Moneymaker Tour announced it will be Caribbean bound later this year. The first ever international Moneymaker Main Event will play out at the Casino Aruba at Hilton from October 4-6, in partnership with the Caribbean Poker Series.
With a guaranteed prize pool of $200,000, the Moneymaker Tour’s $1,500 buy-in Main Event will be the culmination of the $300k GTD Caribbean Poker Series, which runs September 26 to October 6.
“Chris Moneymaker's Main Event win in 2003 not only had an impact on poker in the United States, but around the globe,” said Tony Burns, Executive Manager. “We are excited to partner with the Caribbean Poker Series to host our first international Moneymaker Tour Main Event.”
Chris Moneymaker has yet to win an event on his own tour. However, he’ll be trying again in Aruba, and he announced the Caribbean Poker Series partnership on X/Twitter.
“A collaboration between Moneymaker Poker Tour and The Caribbean Poker Series will create a synergy that benefits both organizations, as well as poker players and fans around the world,” said Craig Evans, Managing Director of the Caribbean Poker Series.
The Moneymaker Tour's next stop takes players back to a familiar venue, the Palm Beach Kennel Club in West Palm Beach, Florida. The series begins on May 2 and runs through to May 14. There will be 28 trophy events with over $500,000 in guarantees, including the $1,500 buy-in, $300,000 guaranteed Main Event. To see the full schedule, click here.
