The road to the 2026 Asian Poker Tour Championship (APTC) begins in Taipei this month, kicking off with one of the biggest added-value promotions on the live circuit this year.
APT Taipei will not only launch another record-breaking season, but also award 22 $10K seats to the APTC Main Event, giving players a huge early shot at the tour’s showpiece event.
It has been a dominant run for the APT, with the last five stops setting new milestones. Players are traveling from far and wide for giant fields and a range of events you simply won't find anywhere else.
Taipei is the flagship city of the APT and will bookend the 2026 season with two festivals, with the opener running from April 22 to May 3.
APT Taipei 2026: bigger than ever
APT Taipei 2026 is even bigger than last year’s edition, which was the largest and richest APT series ever. This time around it will feature 172 events with over $6.5 million in guarantees across a packed 12-day schedule.
It will also award 22 seats to the $10K APTC Main Event. Nishant Sharma won the 2025 APTC Main Event, beating a field of 671 players to take just over $1.1 million from the $6.2 million prize pool.
The 22 seats will be spread across the festival’s biggest events, with multiple paths into the season-ending championship.
Here’s how you can win your way to the APTC Main Event:
- Main Event: 6 seats (top six finishers)
- APT National Cup: 1 seat (winner)
- Mystery Bounty Hunter: 1 seat (winner)
- APT Super High Roller: 2 seats (top two)
- Superstar Challenge: 2 seats (top two)
- High Roller – Ultra Stack: 1 seat (winner)
- Zodiac Classic: 2 seats (top two)
- Mini Main Event: 2 seats (top two)
- Ultra Stack: 1 seat (winner)
- APT High Roller: 2 seats (top two)
In addition, two random seat draws during the Main Event – one on Day 4 and one when the money is reached – mean any player still in the field could land a $10K Championship seat on the spot.
Three Lion trophies, first-ever Women's heads-up event
This year's opening stop starts on April 22 and builds to the APT Taipei Main Event, with just over $2.2 million guaranteed for the $1,740 buy-in. It starts on April 26 with four opening flights running through April 28, each feeding into Day 2 on April 29, when registration ends. From there it's a path to the final table and the grand finale on May 2.
Elsewhere at APT Taipei, the APT Super High Roller and APT High Roller round out the Lion Trophy lineup, both with six-figure guarantees.
Also on the schedule are regular favorites like the APT National Cup, the Mystery Bounty Hunter, the Sunday Super Stack, and the APT's first-ever heads-up women's event.
