The 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Online Main Event on GGPoker drew to a close on Tuesday as the final nine players reconvened to play down to a winner. Across the multiple starting flights on schedule, the $5,000 buy-in Main Event drew a field of 5,961 unique entries to generate a prize pool of $28,314,750 with $3,900,707, plus the highly-coveted WSOP gold bracelet, for the eventual winner.
After an eighth-place finish in the 2024 WSOP Online Main Event, Benjamin Rolle, known online as 'bencb', returned to the final table for another shot at glory – and this time around, he held the chip lead to start proceedings. The Raise Your Edge training site founder and CoinPoker Ambassador encountered a few hiccups along the way, but managed to close out the win to secure the $3.9M top prize and his first WSOP bracelet after a brief heads-up battle against Anatoly Zlotnikov.
Rolle's victory echoes Bert 'girafganger7' Stevens' WSOP Online Main Event win in 2023 as yet another prominent poker streamer rose to the top in one of the year's major online events. The entire final table was live-streamed on the GGPoker YouTube channel with commentary from Jeff Gross and Phil Hellmuth – you can check out the entire replay there.
Rolle's road to victory
While he entered the final table on a middling stack, Zengxiang Chen took a couple early hits and was the first player eliminated from the final table. Chen committed the last of his chips with and looked to be primed for a double up against Zlotnikov's
. The
flop and turn kept it clean, but the
river paired Zlotnikov and sent Chen to the virtual payout desk in ninth place.
Amit Ben Yacov followed suit shortly after when he three-bet shoved with and ran smack dab into Felix Rabas'
. After ceding the chip lead momentarily, Rolle regained control when he opened
from the button and called off a twenty big blind all-in from Andreas Christoforou in the small blind. It was a flip as Rolle found himself up against Christoforou's
and needed to hit to score the elimination. The
board left Christoforou drawing dead on the turn as Rolle flopped a broadway straight.
Rolle extended his chip lead even further with the elimination of Santiago Plante in sixth place. In a blind versus blind confrontation, Plante moved all-in from the small blind with and Rolle quickly called with
. The
runout offered no help to Plante as Rolle improved to an unneeded top pair.
Marco Agustin Perez and Daniel Smiljkovic bowed out in quick succession and with three players remaining the stacks were just about even.
Rabas and Rolle then tangled in a massive blind versus blind clash. Rolle limped from the small blind with and Rabas bumped it up from the big blind with
. After a brief tank, Rolle responded with a non-all-in four-bet and Rabas, the covering stack, moved all-in over the top. Rolle quickly called to put his tournament life on the line. It was a serious sweat as the
flop smashed both players – Rolle connecting with top pair while Rabas found the nut flush draw. The
turn kept it clean for Rolle and the
river sealed the hand to send a full double his way.
Rabas managed to double through Rolle shortly after, but then ran headlong into Zlotnikov's aces to hit the rail in third place.
Redemption for Rolle
When heads-up play began, Zlotnikov held a slim chip lead – but it didn't last long. In the most consequential hand at the final table, Zlotnikov opened from the button with and Rolle responded with a three-bet with
. Zlotnikov didn't believe his opponent and moved all-in over the top – only to see the bad news as Rolle quickly called. The
runout saw both players improve to top pair, but Rolle's ace-high kicker left him with the best of it and he took a commanding chip lead.
It was all over two hands later. From the button, Zlotnikov limped in with and Rolle shot it up from the big blind with
. Zlotnikov moved all-in over the top and Rolle quickly called it off. With $3.9M, the bracelet, and all the glory that comes with it on the line, the
runout delivered all of the above to Rolle.
