Big pot alert: Victoria Livschitz has aces in the Main Event

Victoria Livschitz took her shot at the WSOP $10K Main Event on Day 1C. She hardly had time to settle into her seat before she was all in during Level 1.

We caught up with the poker professional and founder of Octopi Poker to hear how it went down, and what it was like being all in so early in the marquee event.

The hand: A preflop collision 

It's Level 1, and blinds are 100/200 with a 200 ante. The hijack opened to 500, and then the button three-bet to 1.5K. Livschitz looked down at in the big blind. 

"It's easy to play with aces," she said. 

She four-bet to 4,800. The hijack tanked and folded, but the button five-bet to 10K. 

"I thought the hijack had a real decision to make," Livschitz said. "When I got five-bet, it was clear we were versus or . I had to decide if I push for a six-bet or flat, and if I six-bet, to how much."

She decided to six-bet to 29.8K.

"I had an image of an aggro pro, so I thought I should put to a real decision. I raised pretty big, and he wasn't in a folding mood, so it was a good read."

Indeed, the button called, and they headed to a flop heads-up. The dealer fanned the . Livschitz moved all in, and he opponent had her covered by 2K.

"On the flop, it's an easy shove, and he was clearly struggling with the decision. But my image worked again, and I got a call."

How she finished the day

That hand started her off in the best way, getting nearly two starting stacks out of the gate. Livschitz ended with 94,200 in the bag for Day 2 on Sunday.
