With Day 1 of the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series $200K Invitational in the books, the field has narrowed down to 85 remaining players from a field of 130 entrants (96 unique players and 34 re-entries). The re-entry period remains open until the start of play on Day 2 – presenting the possibility of a few more entries to boost the prize pool further into eight-figure territory and potentially crack the Triton Invitational record.
Content creator and ClubWPT Gold Ambassador Ethan 'Rampage' Yau leads the field headed into Day 2 as one of only two players to bag up a seven-figure stack – the other being Yong Wai Kin.
Notably, the vast majority of the Top 10 chip stacks hail from the invitee side of the field – only Igor Yaroshevskyy, Elias Talvitie, and Benjamin Heath managed to break into that uppermost echelon from the professional side.
With an average stack of 76 big blinds across the field, Day 2 will bring plenty of deep-stacked play as the remaining players battle down to a final table.
Rob Yong cracks aces early
It was an exciting day throughout, but the biggest moment of the day came in the early goings of Level 1 when Dusk Till Dawn Poker Club owner Rob Yong and Anatoly Zlotnikov clashed in the ultimate cooler: pocket aces versus pocket kings.
The Brit had the worst of it by a long shot, but the flop vaulted him into a commanding lead. Yong's two-outer miracle held up through the turn and river and Zlotnikov's dream spot crumbled into a nightmare as a pot of nearly 300 big blinds slipped through his fingers.
