GGSOP runs Sept. 12-27 on GGPoker
With the 2020 GGPoker WSOP Online Bracelet Events series wrapped up, GGPoker rolls on with a micro and low-stakes recreation of that 54-event series.
No official WSOP bracelets are on the line this time, but the Good Game Series of Poker (GGSOP) promises $6.5 million in guaranteed prize money. The GGSOP runs Sept. 12-27 on the GGPoker international poker platform.
GGPoker created the series to closely follow the 54-tournament schedule presented in the GGPoker WSOP Online Bracelet Events series. The buy-ins for GGSOP, however, range at an affordable $2.50 to $50 in buy-ins.
While the buy-ins are low, the guarantees offer numerous tournaments with six-figure prize pools. The 16-day series culminates with Event #49: $50 No Limit Hold'em Main Event, which comes with a $250 guaranteed prize pool at starts Saturday, Sept. 26.
The largest prize pool of any GGSOP event will be awarded in Event #53: $100 MILLION$. That tournament guarantees $2 million and commences on Sunday, Sept 27., the final day of the series.
Big money for low buy-ins at the GGSOP
The GGSOP kicked off Sunday, Sept. 12, with Event #1: $11.11 Every 1 for Covid Relief. The charity event played as a micro stakes version of the GGPoker $1,111 Every 1 for Covid Relief (Caesars Cares) event, which raised over $350,000 for COVID-19 relief in July.
One of the biggest guarantees of the series ran Sept. 13, as Event #6: $150 GGMasters (GGSOP Edition) promised a $500,000 prize pool for the $150 buy-in event.
Plenty of other opportunities await for players looking to turn a small-stakes buy-in into a share of big prize money. That includes another GGMasters event Sunday, Sept. 20, which comes through Event #30: $150 GGMasters (GGSOP Edition). That Sunday tournament also awards at least $500,000 in prize money.
Yet another $500,000 guaranteed GGMasters takes place again the following Sunday, with Event #51: $150 GGMasters (GGSOP Edition) taking place Sept. 27. That date also includes Event #53: $100 MILLION$ for $2 million guaranteed, and Event #52: $100 Mini Super MILLION$ for $500,000 guaranteed.
With more than $3 million in prize pools over four tournaments, Sept. 27 is shaping up to be the biggest-money day of the GGSOP.
Other notable events on the GGSOP schedule
Five Pot-Limit Omaha events find their way to the GGSOP schedule, including Event #14: $40 PLOSSUS, which comes with a $25,000 guarantee. Event #28: $15 MILLIONAIRE MAKER Jr., guarantees $150,000 overall, including $25,000 for the eventual champion.
Perhaps the biggest return-on-investment opportunity from the entire series comes in Event #50: BIG 5. The tournament plays as a $5 buy-in event with a $100,000 guarantee, assuring the champion of a massive payday relative to one of the lowest buy-ins on the GGSOP calendar. GGPoker is calling the BIG 5 the "biggest $5 tournament of the year", and the event will have to draw at least 20,000 entries to meet the $100,000 guarantee.
Event #42: $2.50 Micro Players Championship, awards a $10,000 guarantee, with a seat to the $10k Super MILLION$ added to the prize pool.
The GGSOP also awards $100,000 in extra prize money via a series leaderboard. The top 100 players on the leaderboard will share the $100,000 at the conclusion of the series.
GGPoker is keeping the tournament momentum rolling in September. On the heels of the WSOP Bracelet Events series, GGPoker is concurrently running the GGSOP, GGMasters, and weekly MILLION$ series, as an unprecedented year of opportunities for online tournament players continues in 2020.
