It's all over but the crying for Phil Hellmuth and Daniel Negreanu in the 2026 $100,000 Super High Roller Bowl Mixed Games.
After bobbing and weaving his way through Day 1 play in just his second tournament of the year, Negreanu began Day 2 with just under a starting stack. Sadly, he didn't last long. As promised, Hellmuth entered Day 2 as a late registrant. While he had just a few more chips than Negreanu when the first hand of the day was dealt, he fared no better than his Canadian friend. During yesterday's stream, Scott Seiver was hopeful that Phil Ivey would recover sufficiently from an illness to enter alongside Hellmuth, but no such luck.
Both Hellmuth and Negreanu were eliminated from contention before the PokerGO stream picked up coverage of the action, leaving us to wonder: where did it all go wrong?
Day 2 thus far
In the video linked below, Hellmuth expressed his excitement to play in the event while at the same time maligned the amount of luck he perceives there to be in the mixed games streets.
"Unfortunately, there's more luck involved in the mixed games," he explained. "Whether I win it or whether I'm first out, there's just more luck."
At the video's close, we find a small morsel of information about Hellmuth's elimination as it's revealed he was sent to the rail by Chris Brewer who also busted not too long after.
Hellmuth later quote-replied to the post from PokerGO, writing: "Sigh... Rough day for me!"
With $1,300,000 for the first-place player, several notables remain in the hunt. At the time of writing, mixed games master Benny Glaser held the chip lead, followed closely by Tobias Leknes, 2025 WSOP Main Event Champ and four-time Poker Players Championship winner Michael 'The Grinder' Mizrachi, the Brazilian on a heater Yuri Dzivielevski, and PokerGO Studio end-boss Chino Rheem.
Additional Day 2 casualties to this point include PGT Mixed Games $25K 10-Game winner Brian Rast, Gus Hansen, Bryn Kenney, Albert Daher, Jesse Lonis, and Eric Wasserson, and Ryan Miller.
With 7 places paid, there's still plenty of carnage to come before the money – check out the remainder of the stream on PokerGO.
