We’re two levels into Day 5 of the 2026 WSOP Main Event, and with almost 9,000 players eliminated, the bracelet and $10 million are finally coming into view for the roughly 300 players still standing.

One of them is Caitlin Comeskey, who’s now adding a Main Event run onto what’s already been a summer to remember, with final tables in the $1K Ladies Championship and the $10K Stud 8 or Better Championship.

We caught up with her on the dinner break just before she moved to the feature table.

How's it going, Caitlin?

Um, my first table was hard as shit. Oh, my God, Farid Jattin? Holy f**k. I've never played with a player more talented in my life. He is scary. The bracelet isn't mine till I get through him. Like, truly, he's one tough son of a bitch. I can't say enough nice things about him. I wish he'd banter with me, so I have a shot, but he's too smart for that.

We're just over 300 players away from the end of this thing. Is it starting to feel real?

I'm about to sit down on ESPN. I’m 50 big blinds deep and I'm playing Day 5 in the Main. I wanted this, I wished for this. It's so surreal that it's happening.

Will you do anything differently now that you're headed to the ESPN feature table?

No, I'm going to play it one hand at a time. I'm going to use the clues that I have like I always do. I'm lucky that this is my third or fourth time playing on the feature so far this series, so I do feel ready for the moment.

I don't feel overwhelmed. I feel calm. I feel good. I had a great break. Had three cigarettes. Took some deep breaths, did some breathing exercises, just watched Lilias White sing Don't Rain on My Parade, which is something I always, always do. I listen to a lot of show tunes when I'm deep in a run. It takes me back to who I was as a little girl. It's special to me.

This has been your biggest and best summer, and we're not even done yet, but you're capping it with this run in the Main Event. How cool is it to be in this spot?

I asked the universe for it, and the universe is dangling it in front of me, and... I'm gonna reach out and grab it. I would love to be able to pull this off.

What's the goal for the end of the day?

I really just want to take it one moment at a time. One hand at a time, one breath at a time. Because this is bigger than me.
