A season of exciting returns on the WSOP Circuit continues this month with New Orleans back on the schedule for the first time since 2019.

From August 21-September 1, Caesars New Orleans will host an 18-ring event festival with over $1,000,000 in guarantees, highlighted by the $1,700 Main Event, which holds its own $500,000 guarantee.

Side event buy-ins will range from $300 to $600 and will feature WSOP Circuit staples such as the $400 Monster Stack, which comes with its own $100,000 guarantee. A $400 Seniors event, a $300 Ladies event, and a series-opening $400 multi-flight event with a $200,000 guarantee are among the other highlights on the 12-day schedule.

Each ring winner of the series will also receive a $5,000 package to WSOP Paradise in the Bahamas this December. The full schedule for Paradise has just dropped and there are some surprises on the slate.

A historic venue back on the schedule

Formerly Harrah’s New Orleans, the Big Easy’s downtown casino was one of the charter stops on the WSOP Circuit back in 2005 and was a staple of the tour through 2019. The 2020 edition had to be cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic, and sadly, this famous Cajun city had not returned to the WSOPC schedule until now.

The history of its Main Event champions dates back to Walter Chambers' 2005 triumph over a 259-entry field in the then $10,000 iteration for $787,340, leading to the last Main Event champion here in 2019, Christopher Lane, who won a $1,700 Main Event with 582 runners for $185,158.

Along the way, such notables as Damjan Radanov (2015), Bryan Campanello (2014), Jean ‘Prince’ Gaspard (2009), and Peter Feldman (2006) have laid claim to a New Orleans Main Event title, whether they were at $10,000, $5,000, or $1,700 price points.
