Kevin Martin is taking matters into his own hands with a new reality television show that will stream live starting on Thursday.

Poker Wars, a livestream competition that will smash together card playing with the social deception seen on games like Survivor and Big Brother, will air on KMart's YouTube from May 21-24 at 1pm PT every day.

Martin, who is an alum of Big Brother Canada and GGPoker's Game of Gold, is bankrolling the competition himself and putting up a $50,000 prize.

Players will compete in the livestream competition both on and off the felt, with similar special powers and twists that you might find on other shows. There will also be an interactive element as the poker spills into the online tournament world.

Six contestants are said to be in on the action, including Abby Merk, Jon Pardy, Haven Taylor, and Hesham 'Kiero Loves You' Elkhouly. Non-poker x-factors Jake Straus and Ali Kebritchi will also join in.

The Poker x Big Brother mashup is one of the most requested (and pitched) pieces of poker content, and it can also be one of the most difficult to pull off. Martin, however, has more experience than anyone in this area, so we are rooting for fortune to favor his bold idea.

The Canadian pro will host and commentate on everything live on his YouTube and Twitch channels starting Thursday at 1pm PT.
