It's been a little more than six years since Seth Davies fired his first bullet in a Triton Super High Roller Series event.

Back in 2019, the tour was still in its youth when Davies took part in four events in Jeju and bricked all of them. It wasn't until his fourth stop – Madrid in 2022 – that Davies notched his first Triton cash.

Over the following years, he added 36 more scores to his tally, but a win, or even a runner-up finish, eluded him. On Sunday, Davies put an end to that narrative with a win in Event #6: $50,000 NLH at the tour's ongoing stop in Montenegro. Davies outlasted the field of 143 entries to take home the top prize of $1,436,741

"When you start throwing all those numbers out, 17 final tables and I've never even been heads up!?! That's a big number," Davies told Triton reporters. "Most of my biggest success has been on other tours, so it's really nice to finally have a win at Triton, especially when it means so much to me."

Five big blind spin to win

When Day 2 began, the money bubble still loomed and it took longer than most to burst. In the end, it was Stanley Tang who bowed out on the wrong side of the bubble after having his pocket aces cracked by Fedor Holz and losing a flip to Mikita Badziakouski

With a cash secured, players began to drop quickly, including Triton fan favorite Vladimir 'Gambledore' Korzinin who wowed spectators with his unorthodox, but effective style in Monte Carlo. Korzinin ran an audacious bluff against Brian Kim, but couldn't get it past him and exited in 18th place.

When the final table of nine came together, Davies – along with most of the table – was short-stacked. Thankfully, the blind level rollback provided room to work. Still, Davies' sub-20 big blind stack wasn't exactly the most navigable and he had a tough path to victory. After scoring two ladders thanks to the eliminations of Alex Foxen and Poseidon Ho, Davies looked to be next on the chopping block with only five big blinds remaining. Instead, he managed to double twice to find himself on a more comfortable stack of 29 big blinds. With the eliminations of Matthew Belcher, Holz, and Badziakouski, only four players remained and stacks were perilously short.

When Davies took out Joao Simao, he drew level with Danilo Velasevic and Jules Dickerson in a three-way deadlock for the chip lead. At this point, it was anyone's game to win and Davies rose to the occasion.

"We were five handed and everybody had the same amount of chips," Davies said. "It was just madness and when things are that way, you've got to run well. And I ran well. I won a bunch of pre-flop all-ins, made a bunch of big hands. It was really anybody's game and it just went my way today."

After scoring a crucial double through Velasevic with pocket nines, Davies went on to take the rest of Dickerson's chips to seize the chip lead headed into heads-up play. Both Davies and Velasevic agreed to chop the remaining prize pool and set aside $54,000 to play for. As it turned out, the heads-up battle was more of a skirmish as Velasevic ran a three-street bluff against his opponent on the very first hand off the deck. Davies called him down the whole way and showed the winner to claim his first Triton title.
