MGM gets ready to open another property popular with poker players

There are new signs of hope for poker players heading to Nevada as another casino is getting ready to come back to life. The Excalibur Hotel & Casino, located on the famous Las Vegas Strip, will reopen its doors on Thursday.

The Excalibur is the latest MGM Resorts International property in Las Vegas to reopen its doors. The property follows in the footsteps of Bellagio, New York-New York, MGM Grand Las Vegas and The Signature, which all returned to business on June 4th.

All MGM properties have opened without operational poker rooms, and it’s expected that Excalibur will be no different. However, as more properties come back online and demand for poker increases, that could soon change.

Commented Bill Hornbuckle, acting CEO and president of MGM Resorts: “We are very pleased by the enthusiasm we are seeing from guests ready to come back to Las Vegas. As business demand increases, we are able to open additional properties and bring more of our employees back to work.”

The property will reopen with several health & safety guidelines in place, including temperature checks for employees and a requirement for all personnel to wear masks.

What’s more, social distancing will also be implemented across the sprawling property. Patrons will also notice plexiglass barriers where maintaining distance proves difficult. Another new addition that’s sure to become a standard will also be found dotting the casino floor — standalone washing stations.

The Excalibur won’t be the last MGM property to open on the strip. According to Hornbuckle, MGM “will continue monitoring business trends in the weeks and months ahead and look forward to sharing news around additional property openings here in Las Vegas, and around the country, as it becomes available.”
