'My pulse was going wild' – Kornuth contends with Keating in $200K pot

The Big Game On Tour continued the back half of its Season 2 run on Sunday with Episode 9 airing on the PokerStars YouTube Channel. Alan Keating resumed his role as table captain as Chance Kornuth settled into the game and the two players clashed in six-figure pot as comedian Morgan Jay serenaded the table with his guitar-picking commentary.

'It's hard to stack a guy like Chance' 

Keating kicked off the action with a raise to $1,800 from the cutoff with . Kornuth called from the button with and Jay defended the big blind with as he plucked at his guitar strings. On the flop, action was all but guaranteed as Kornuth connected with bottom set and Keating found a flush draw to work with. Jay, on the other hand, whiffed entirely and checked in flow to Keating who fired $3,500 into the $6,000 pot. 

Kornuth wasted no time in raising to $10,500, sending Jay on his way, but prompting an all-in from Keating.

"Call," Kornuth said as he rolled over his set. 

With $198,400 in the middle, both players agreed to run it twice. As he watched on, Jay broke into song – much to the delight of Kornuth and the rest of the table. 

On the first runout, the improved Kornuth to a full house and left Keating drawing dead. Improbably, the second runout saw the appear on the turn – again snuffing out any hope Keating had for a chopped pot. 

"It's hard to stack a guy like Chance," Keating said in a cutaway interview. "It would have been interesting to find out how he would have responded if I made that spade."

"I could not believe how much my pulse was just going wild," Kornuth told the cameras.
