Orleans finally dropped the schedule for their annual WSOP counter-programming festival — a Summer Open with over $4.7 million in guarantees from May 22 through July 12 in Las Vegas.
It's a long-awaited schedule for those WSOP regulars who take the short trip away from The Strip for an afternoon at Orleans, and you will be happy to see $1.5 million in guarantees just for mixed game events.
Super Sundays drive big Summer Open
But first, a big welcome back to the Super Sunday Special. The regular Orleans feature returns with a super-sized look on seven different Sundays throughout the series with a $300 buy-in and a $100 add-on that gives you another starting stack. Like last year, each will carry a $100K guarantee, but that's expected to be a formality for a tournament that broke several records last summer.
The aforementioned mixed games events fill out the core of the rest of the schedule, with $1.5 million spread throughout the series. Just about every day on the schedule has a mixed game event, and the opening week features several $600 championships. The rest of the month plays out with a mix of old favorites and brand-new events, like what might possibly be the first instance of Dramaha in tournament play. Other variants include Omaha8, TORSE, Triple Draw Mix, Triple Stud Mix, Razz, and everything in between.
It all leads up to the Orleans Summer Open Main Event, a $600 buy-in with a $500K prize pool with opening flights from July 1-4. Survivors return for Day 2 on July 5. Last year's Main Event offered an $800 buy-in and brought in 1,653 entries for just over $1.1 million in prizes, but the 2024 version sold 2,726 tickets at the $600 price point for a prize pool over $1.4 million.
Orleans is among the rooms who are finally releasing their summer schedules, with Venetian and Wynn dropping this week. We're still waiting for Aria, but it should be any day now.
