PokerStars is running its third annual Mystery Bounty Series from the end of this week, with at least $3 million in guaranteed prizes awarded from April 26 to May 4.
If you’re new to mystery bounty events, they pay out prizes for every player you eliminate after the bubble.
The kicker is, you don’t know what you’ve won until you hit the mystery prize draw. KO more players to pick up more bounties, each time hoping to hit the really big one.
Available prizes — as well as those yet to be claimed — can be tracked, letting you know the biggest prizes still to be pulled.
A mystery bounty pull always draws a crowd at a live event, as players reach in to grab an envelope, then slowly open it to reveal the mystery prize within.
And they can be big prizes — sometimes as large as, or even more than, first-place prize money. But of course you don’t need to beat the whole field to win them; you can scoop the big bucks thanks to just one elimination.
Online poker may lack some of the ceremony of its live cousin, but the drama is just as real. Knock out just a single opponent once you’re past the bubble and you too could be picking up a juicy chunk of change — even if you’re the very next player eliminated.
And with the huge fields that online poker can handle, even a small buy-in could pay off big-time. The Mystery Bounty Series schedule features buy-ins from $5.50 to $215.
Two Main Events plus a big Sunday Special
May 3 will see two series Main Events take place in the mystery bounty format, and each has a healthy guaranteed prizepool.
- The $109 Main Event will award at least $500K
- The $11 Mini Main Event is guaranteeing at least $100K
In addition, the $75 Sunday Special on April 26 has a guarantee of $350K.
Satellites for these and more are running now at PokerStars, from just $0.55, as well as special edition Spin & Go tourneys.
