PokerStars has announced plans for an exciting end to its Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) League – with a $10,300 Power Path Gold Pass up for grabs.
If you're unaware of the details behind the SCOOP League, here's a quick refresher. At the start of the series, five teams – Team Spraggy, Team Tonkaaaa, Team Peace&Loove, Team Kelvin FP:AR, and Team Easywithaces – drafted players to compete in the SCOOP League. Based on where their players finished in events, each team earned a certain number of points. The team with the most points at the end of the series wins.
More knockouts, more points
While the action continues on the virtual felt, any PokerStars player who backed one of these teams now has the chance to win a Power Path Gold Pass worth up $10,300 thanks to the Battle Royale Freeroll taking place on June 1.
In order to partake, simply register for the freeroll tournament named after the SCOOP League team you want to support. As you play, you'll earn leaderboard points for every opponent you knock out – the more knockouts, the more points earned. Each of the five teams has its own leaderboard and the top 20 players from each leaderboard will be awarded a ticket to the Battle Royale Freeroll.
The winner of the Battle Royale Freeroll will not only earn themselves the $10,300 Power Path Gold Pass, but also 100 additional points for their captain's SCOOP League team. Plus, all players who opt in for the winning team will earn a ticket to the community All-In Shootout on June 3.
If you've been tracking the progression of the SCOOP League, you know that Team Spraggy started the series strong. Now, however, the lead established early in the series has vanished as Team Kelvin_FP:AR has surged into the top spot. It's still a tight race with the top three teams all bunched together – and there's plenty more poker to play, including the Main Events this weekend.
When it comes down to it, the 100 additional points earned via the Battle Royale Freeroll could make the difference between winning the SCOOP League... or not.
