The richest-ever Asian Poker Tour (APT) High Roller on Korean soil crowned a winner on Sunday.
When the dust settled, it was the UK's Scott Margereson who held all the chips – triumphing over a record-setting field to claim the $190,110 first-place prize, the APT Mega Lion trophy, and a $10K ticket for the APT Championship Main Event next month in Taipei. While the final table was a marathon session, the heads-up battle lasted just one hand as Margereson made quick work of Japan's Yoshifumi Takahashi to close out the victory
Margereson entered the final table of nine with a slim chip lead over the field. India's Kunal Patni wasn't far behind while Chih Wei Fan was the short stack.

The early exits
Fan was the first player eliminated, bowing out in a blind versus blind confrontation with Margereson. From the small blind, Fan sent the last of his stack in with and Margereson made the call with
.
The flop connected with both players as Margereson made top pair and Fan found an open-ended straight draw. The
turn saw Fan pair up, but the
river was a brick and his run came to an end.
After losing a big chunk in a hand against Jiaxian Pan, China's Yaoyu He was left short-stacked.
He called off the last of his stack with against Pan's
and was in good shape to double up on the
flop. The
turn and
river saw Pan make two pair, however, and He had to settle for an eighth-place finish. He's elimination was the only knockout that Margereson had no part in.
The Netherlands' Wouter Beltz bowed out next, his falling to Margereson's
on a
runout.
Margereson, seemingly unstoppable, notched the next elimination as well – downing past Mega Lion winner Martin Sedlak's with
on a
runout.
Margereson closes
The Brit continued his frenzy of KOs by taking out Pan next. In the face of an open from Patni, Margereson moved all-in with and picked up a call from the short-stacked Pan in the big blind with
.
The flop paired Pan to vault him into the lead, but the
turn provided Margereson with a straight and the
river changed nothing.
Patni took a tough beat to fall in fifth. In a three-way all-in pot, he had the best of it with against Margereson's
and Takahashi's
. The
runout saw Takahashi triple up as the short stack while Patni hit the rail in fourth place – at the hands of Margereson.
After doubling twice through Margereson to stay alive a little longer, Hongsheng Zhang bowed out in third place when he called off the last of his stack with .
Margereson's held up across the
runout to recoup his lost chips and notch another elimination.
When heads-up play began, Margereson held an overwhelming chip lead over Takahashi – and their battle lasted just one hand. Takahashi moved all-in with and Margereson called it off with
.
The runout saw both make two pair, but the Brit had the best of it.
