It has begun. The madness has descended upon the halls and ballrooms of the Horseshoe and Paris casinos.

In his most recent vlog, Daniel Negreanu labeled the World Series of Poker a "madhouse." Viktor Blom clued us into the insanity when he mucked the winner yesterday during the $10K GGMillion$. Shaun Deeb is currently faced with a series-long hex courtesy of Jeff Platt and a WWE wrestler known only as Danhausen

And now we've got a louder-than-usual (if you find this hard to believe, roll the tape above) Martin Kabrhel misreading the board as he busted out of the $600 PLO

Not like that!

Late on Day 2 of the $600 Deepstack Pot-Limit Omaha, Kabrhel found himself all-in and at-risk. With only four big blinds to work with, he had to spin the wheel with a bit of a junky hand

After moving all-in from early position, Kabrhel was called by the button before the big blind shipped it in for just two big blinds more. With three players headed to a runout, Kabrhel needed a lot of help

  • Eric Cajelais:
  • David Avina:
  • Martin Kabrhel:

On the flop Kabrhel was drawing live with bottom pair and an open-ended straight draw. The turn saw Cajelais pick up some equity with two pair, flush, and straight outs, but changed little for Kabrhel.

While keen-eyed four-card players should be quick to realize that the top end of Kabrhel's straight draw was no good, the Czech pro failed to recognize the fact and called out to the heavens (and the dealer) for a low card. Perhaps it was the heat of the moment or all of the cards on the felt or the wrap-around, blackout sunglasses. Perhaps a bit of all three.

Martin Kabrhel It might not have ended the way he hoped, but it's another solid run for Martin Kabrhel at the 2026 WSOP.

In any case, when the river came down the Kabrhel didn't see that Avina had rivered the nut straight and celebrated as only he can.

With very little hesitation, his likely-grateful tablemates pointed out that Avina had the nuts and Kabrhel looked down at the cards on the table.

"That was close!" he roared, rocking back and forth on his heels like a fighter waiting for the bell.

It can happen to the best of us.
