Joe Stapleton and James Hartigan know a thing or two about poker players.
After well over a decade together in the PokerStars commentary booth, they've watched on as thousands upon thousands of players test their skills in live events – but how much do they know about the online poker arena?
Well, we're about to find out. If you haven't heard by now (in which case, read more below), PokerOrg's latest Pick 3 competition centers on the PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP). As one of the site's flagship tournament series, SCOOP attracts the best of the best to battle it out for millions of dollars in guaranteed prize pools.
Pick 3 SCOOP lets PokerOrg members draft a team of players to, hopefully, rack up points for them across the series. With a $5K Irish Open package up for grabs, why not throw your hat in the ring?
Hey, if Stapes and Hartigan are taking a shot at it, shouldn't you?
Stapes: 'Spraggy' not a heavy hitter
As seen in the video above, one of the players Stapleton picks for his team is none other than PokerStars Team Pro Benjamin 'Spraggy' Spragg. While the pick itself is a compliment, Stapleton isn't convinced that Spragg's categorization as a 'heavy hitter' is entirely accurate.
"Spraggy is one of my closest friends, I gotta pick him, but here's the thing," Stapleton said. "I'm gonna compliment him by picking him, but I'm also gonna insult him by saying he should not be on the heavy hitters list."
Will Spragg prove Stapleton wrong in the coming weeks? Check back with PokerOrg as the Pick 3 SCOOP competition runs throughout March.
