From August 17-25, the high rollers of the poker community will take their talents to the Merit Royal Diamond Hotel and Spa in Cyprus for a ten-event slate of big buy-in tournaments at the Super High Roller Bowl Series

The series coincides with the opening of the resort's new Onyx Club, an exclusive, lavish space purpose-built for high-stakes poker and gaming. Each of the ten events will kick off in the Merit Royal function rooms before moving to the state-of-the-art streaming set inside the Onyx Club for the final table.

As part of PokerGO's coverage, the final table of each of the first five No-Limit Hold'em events will air exclusively on its streaming platform. Once the Super High Roller Bowl IX gets underway, the streaming attention will turn entirely to focus on the marquee event of the series.

Super High Roller Bowl IX headlines packed lineup

The Super High Roller Bowl Series offers buy-ins ranging from $25,000 to $300,000, with each event coming in the form of a freezeout — one entry per player. Both No-Limit Hold'em and Pot-Limit Omaha feature on the schedule, with each format offering a Mystery Bounty event. The crown jewel in the schedule is, of course, the $300,000 Super High Roller Bowl IX.

As part of the 2024 PokerGO Tour Season, each event in Cyprus will earn players PGT leaderboard points based on the amount they cash for. As always, the top 40 players on the PGT leaderboard will qualify for the season-concluding PGT Championship $1,000,000 Freeroll.

Ausmus currently occupies the fifth spot with 1,499 PGT points, while Zobian sits just below him in sixth place with 1,438 PGT points. “The events on the PGT are by far my favorite tour to play," Zobian said about attending the Super High Roller Bowl Series for the first time. "I love competing against the best in the world and vying for PGT points.”

Santhosh Suvarna and Sergio Aido will also make appearances in Cyprus after having productive summers at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. Suvarna won his second bracelet in the $250K Super High Roller, while Aido claimed his first in the $50K No-Limit Hold'em High Roller.

PLO high rollers drawn in

As the last three events in the series come in the Pot-Limit Omaha format, several well-known, high-stakes PLO regulars have committed to attend. Amongst those making the trip are Jan-Peter Jachtmann, who notably finished 4th in the 2023 WSOP Main Event, Joni Joukimainen, and Aku Joentausta

“Great venue with good action," Jouhkimainen said. "Looking forward to the big Pot-Limit Omaha events that you don’t find too often.”
