Twitter sits at the center of the poker universe, often capturing the pulse of the world of poker better than any other medium.
The game’s prominent personalities are also not shy about weighing in on non-poker issues, making “Poker Twitter” an unmatched outlet for entertainment among the sports and gaming spheres.

Barstool Sports looks forward to the premiere of High Stakes Poker Season 8
Most of the poker community eagerly awaits the return of High Stakes Poker, one of the most beloved poker television shows of all-time. After a nearly decade-long hiatus, High Stakes Poker returns on PokerGO with Season 8 premiering Dec. 16.
PokerGO dropped a Season 8 trailer earlier this week, and Barstool Sports likes what they see:

There’s a lot to like from the three-and-a-half-minute trailer, which features a glimpse of a player lineup unmatched by any show in recent memory. The Season 8 trailer shows Phil Ivey, Phil Hellmuth, Rick Salomon, Doug Polk, Bill Perkins, Tom Dwan, and a host of other dynamic personalities.
The High Stakes Poker reboot also features the return of iconic hosting duo Gabe Kaplan and A.J. Benza.
Does Ryan Fee ever run bad?
Cash game crusher and Upswing Poker co-founder Ryan Fee asked a question that anyone who’s ever played poker has pondered many times:
“Has anyone ever ran bad while playing poker?” Fee tweeted. “Asking for an enemy…”.
Fee must not run bad all that often, with a reputation as one of poker’s modern-day greats. Another player who’s running pretty well lately is Doug Polk, one of the other co-founders of Upswing Poker.

Negreanu can’t catch a break against Polk
Poker media veteran Frank Op de Word expressed his condolences for Daniel Negreanu’s tough run against Doug Polk in the duo’s current “High Stakes Feud” heads-up match:
“Man, I feel for @RealKidPoker in his match against @DougPolkVids,” Op de Word tweeted. “Can't seem to catch a break. Session review (jn Dutch) by @EricMMedia on @CasinoNieuws_nl including interactive graph:”.
Op de Word’s tweet features links to a detailed piece from Dutch poker news site CasinoNieuws, which offers a detailed breakdown (and interactive graph) of the challenge through the 18th session, which wrapped up Wednesday.
Negreanu fell down to nearly a $1 million deficit against Polk after that match, which is approaching the 10,000-hand mark. The heads-up challenge is scheduled for 25,000 hands, but either player can opt-out after 12,500 hands.
