The poker world held its collective breath on Tuesday night as Phil Hellmuth fell into a small batch of hedges while filming a video at a party in Miami.
Hellmuth, who was okay, published the video to social media shortly after the spill.
"After the fall, whilst lying on the ground, trying to figure out what I hurt, I noticed I had zero pain, somehow," Hellmuth said on X.
'That was intentional'
The fall happened just after Hellmuth was offered a cigar by a nearby party guest. He declined and stepped out for a closer look at the view from the pool. It all went wrong when he neared the edge of the patio.
"Look at this," Hellmuth said before a small "oof" and the sound of well-manicured hedges breaking under his weight.
Ever the showman, he popped back on camera right away.
"What was great about that, folks, is you saw me fall and I really could have hurt myself, but I didn't."
A nearby friend checked on Phil, but he played it off like a 17-time champ.
"That was intentional," Hellmuth told the concerned party guest. "And I haven't even started drinking yet."
