Just when you thought you had seen it all, someone holds a poker tournament in the same room as a funeral.
Last month, a Reddit user sat down for the Suited Up Poker Tour Main Event at the Springville Sports Barn in Plover, Wisconsin — only to see several people at a memorial service on the other side of the room.
Another day in Wisconsin
The Springville Sports Barn holds a lot of different events in Plover, which sits about 75 miles outside of Green Bay. Locals enjoy poker tournaments, BBQ festivals, Billy Joel tribute bands, and according to several local obituaries it's a common spot for a memorial service.
March 14 was one such day when the Suited Up Poker Tour held an event for players who qualify in bar games throughout the area. One advertisement expected between 80 and 100 people for the tournament, which was separated from a memorial service on the other side of the room by several curtains. The aforementioned Reddit user would go on to place third in the tournament.
No word on if this has happened before, but no one on either side of the room seemed to be bothered by the arrangement.
