The World Poker Tour's international online platform, WPT Global, has announced two more online series that will combine to award at least $10 million to players throughout the remainder of July and August. WPT Global's Preheat Festival will run for ten days in mid-July, offering at least $3 million in guaranteed prize money. As July ends, the network's Summer Festival begins, offering at least $7 million more in a 21-day series that runs through much of August.
The two series are available to players in over 100 countries worldwide, though not in the US, where WPT fans and players are instead offered the World Poker Tour's subscription-based service, ClubWPT. Both online platforms also serve as important feeder channels into major live WPT events.
$300K championship headlines Preheat Festival
WPT Global's upcoming Preheat Festival includes three prominent events that anchor a series schedule offering over 160 tourneys. At the top of the pyramid is the festival's $220-entry championship, which offers at least one starting flight each day of the opening week of the series and will offer at least $300,000 in guaranteed payouts.
The three headliner events are these:
- $220 Championship: $300,000 Gtd.
- $22 Mini Championship: $80,000 Gtd.
- $2,100 High Roller PKO: $200,000 Gtd.
Winners of any Preheat event also receive a $220 'Champions' ticket for August's $500,000 Guaranteed Summer Festival Championship.
Summer Festival begins July 28
One week after the Preheat Festival concludes, the Summer Festival starts up. WPT Global's largest series of the summer will pay out at least $7 million in guaranteed prizes throughout its 21-day run, which begins on July 28 and concludes on August 18.
The complete schedule of events for the Summer Festival will be released in the coming weeks, and WPT Global promises the series will mirror in many ways the popular Spring Festival. The series will include a $500,000 championship as mentioned above.
