The PokerStars Open Main Event in Barcelona continued today with Day 2 action.
Across the eight Day 1 starting flights, 4,333 entrants ponied up the €1,650 buy-in and took their seats. Only 648 of that number reached Day 2 play to secure a minimum cash.
There were several big names lurking amidst the chip counts headed into the day – but only a few of them survived the carnage.
Over the course of the day, the field was whittled down to just 80 remaining players.
Han Feng, fresh off of a fifth-place finish in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event for $2,250,000, reigns supreme over the field.
With 5.1M chips in the bag for Day 3, the American is right back in the thick of a deep run and another big-field final table could be in his future. Feng's lead is a comfortable one, but with Sweden's Alexander Ivarsson not far behind and plenty of capable opponents still in the field, that final table appearance is far from guaranteed.

Pick 3 horses still in it
We've been keeping an eye on players still in the hunt who were also available to draft for our Pick 3 EPT Barcelona fantasy contest – and headed into Day 2 we had plenty of names to follow.
After today, only a handful remain, including chip leader Feng.
Jamie Dwan started Day 2 with one of the biggest stacks in the room, but was unable to build on that stack today. He's still in the hunt for the title, though, sitting 45th in the chip counts with 1.2M.
Brock Wilson, also coming off of a deep run in the 2026 WSOP Main Event, has chips to work with as well. With 1.1M chips, he's right around the middle of the pack, 50th in the counts.
Poland's Dominik Panka and PokerStars Ambassador Sebastian Huber are just a few places behind Wilson, with 805K and 735K respectively.
Octopi Poker's Victoria Livschitz is in dire need of a spin on Day, with only 300K in her stack.
The five of them, together with Feng, represent the remaining Pick 3 draft choices in the PokerStars Open Main Event – keep an eye on them throughout Day 3 if you're still mulling over your lineup.
And then there were the less fortunate players who were sent to the payout desk, including several Pick 3 EPT Barcelona players: Vladas Tamasauskas (119th, €8,880), Niklas Astedt (121st, €7,750), Thomas Eychenne (134th, €7,750), Tom Hall (135th, €7,750), Nick Palma (152nd, €6,740), Michael Wang (160th, €6,740), Conor O'Driscoll (218th, €5,860), Justin Saliba (230th, €5,100), Dara O'Kearney (246th, €5,100), Matthew Wantman (258th, €5,100), Cherish Andrews (319th, €4,410), Martin Zamani (383rd, €3,840), Biao Ding (418th, €3,340), Kenny Hallaert (574th, €2,900), and Maria Konnikova (639th, €2,520).
They've all already cashed in Barcelona this summer; will they do it again in the Main Event and add points for your team?
Day 3 action in the PokerStars Open Main Event kicks off Friday, August 21 in Barcelona at 11:00am local time.
