WSOP Online has announced the first series of online satellites that will feed players into the $25K buy-in Super Main Event at the 2024 WSOP Paradise series, which will return for its second iteration this December. Beginning this Sunday evening and continuing each Sunday through the end of September, the satellites will be available only on the MI/NV/NJ three-state platform.
The satellites carry a hefty $525 entry fee, but the reward is big – a $30,000 prize package including your Super Main Event seat and $4K for travel and accommodations that will be deposited into your WSOP Online account. (The $26,000 Super Main Event entry includes a $1,000 administrative fee.)
The 2024 WSOP Paradise Super Main Event boasts $50 million prize-pool guarantee, the largest in poker history. It's the centerpiece of the December festival, which will include 15 bracelet events and will also include a million-dollar, invitation-only freeroll. The Paradise festival begins on December 6 and ends on December 19.
Certain conditions apply
The Super Main Event satellites carry a few special conditions. Players are responsible for arranging their own travel to and from the Bahamas, and the $4K stipend is designed specifically for that purpose. The winners' seat packages are also 'must play' awards: they are not transferable to other players, nor are they exchangeable for online tourney entries or cash. As a result, there's no point trying to win multiple Paradise packages, and if you find you can't travel to play, you'll forfeit your seat, with the entry fee remaining part of the prize pool. Players will also be required to have a WSOP+ account to take part in any Paradise event.
The first of the Super Main Event satellites has already been added to the WSOP.com client serving Michigan, Nevada, and New Jersey players. Coded in orange text as '$30,000 WSOP Paradise package' and easiest to find by selecting the 'Show Satellites' filter, each week's qualifier begins at 20:30 (8:30 pm) Eastern Time in Michigan and New Jersey, and at 17:30 (5:30 pm) PT in Nevada.
Late registration lasts for three hours. The event will be eight-handed, and re-entries are unlimited. Blinds will increase every 10 minutes, though they start at 25/50 and climb slowly. Players will receive 10,000 in chips, which for the opening level equates to 200 big blinds. And similarly to seats not being transferable, no deal-making will be allowed.
