At PokerOrg we strive to celebrate all the game’s players, all the time. But with today being International Women’s Day, we wanted to highlight two influential industry figures who are doing great work with the Women’s Poker Association ( WPA), and much more besides.

  • Ivonne Montealegre is the founder and event director of the Malta Poker Festival, the CEO of Fiebree, and vice-president of the WPA.
  • Kerryjane Craigie is also a board member of the WPA, in addition to running the London Hippodrome’s poker room in her role as Director of Poker. ‘KJ’ is also an accomplished player, as her recent winner’s photo above shows.

Together they join Alex O’Brien – player, author and member of PokerOrg Player Advisory Board – for a frank discussion about how poker has changed over the past 20 years, and how far it still has to go.

  • The Malta Poker Festival (MPF) runs April 22-29 at Portomaso Casino, Malta
  • Craigie will be hosting the Ladies First event during the MPF on April 27
  • The London-based Day 1 of the MPF takes place on March 16 at the Hippodrome, London
