Matt Higgins wins the WSOPC Choctaw Main Event for $218,436!

Matt Higgins is the champion of Event #13: $1,700 Main Event, defeating a field of 849 players to win the first-place prize of $218,436.

This is Higgins' ninth WSOPC ring and second Main Event title as he cements his legacy as one of the most formidable players on the Circuit.

It was a wire-to-wire performance, with Higgins overtaking the chip lead with two tables left and never giving it up for the rest of the tournament, making quick work of the final table after just two hours of Day 3 play.

Just a couple hands into the heads-up match, Jeremy Bowman opened the button to 350,000 before Matt Higgins three-bet to 1,300,000 from the big blind. Bowman would then four-bet jam for 15,750,000, and Higgins snapped it off slightly covering.

Higgins held the small advantage as they flipped for almost all of the chips. The flop changed nothing as Bowman pleaded with the dealer. The turn kept Higgins into the lead as the tension built up, and the bricked off on the river, leaving ace-high best as Higgins won his ninth WSOPC ring and second Main Event title.

Matt Higgins limped from the small blind and Damarjai Davenport checked his option in the big blind.

On the flop, Higgins led with a bet before Davenport raised to 555,000. Higgins then three-bet to 1,700,000, and Davenport called.

The turn brought the as Higgins immediately jammed, and Davenport snap-called off his remaining 1,125,000 stack.
