The World Series of Poker Circuit continues its trek toward the season-ending WSOP Paradise trip later this month with one of the biggest stops of the year at Thunder Valley in Northern California.
The entire West Coast poker scene has WSOPC Thunder Valley circled on their calendar and and big fields are expected. Two six-figure guarantees and a $1,000,000 Main Event are on offer, with 13 rings from September 25–October 6.
Last time at Thunder Valley, Akbar Zamani won his first WSOPC ring when he beat a field of 676 entries to win $187K in the Main Event. Scott Stewart, who was fresh off his victory at the WPT Championship, also took him a ring — his seventh.
$1M Main leads packed schedule
The fall edition of WSOP Thunder Valley kicks off with a big one, setting up five opening flights for the $400 Opener. Two flights will run on each of the stop's first two days with a five flight at 10am on Saturday, Sept. 27. Surviving players return for Day 2 on Sunday. Also running Sunday is the $400 NLH one-day event with a $40K guarantee, sure to scoop up the early busts and also-rans from the big opening event.
A $400 Monsterstack with a $100K guarantee runs on Sept. 29 and 30 with two opening flights. Meanwhile, $600 mixed game events line the road to the Main Event. Mixed game enthusiasts can sit down for Omaha 8, HORSE, 2-7 Triple Draw, and Pot-Limit Omaha in the days before the Main Event starts on October 2.
The $1,000,000 Main Event runs with three flights and a $1,700 buy-in, starting on Oct. 2. Also running that day is the $400 Seniors Event. The tail end of the series wraps up with three more side events and a $3,250 High Roller on Oct 5 and 6.
