It takes discipline, commitment, and motivation to reach any level of consistency. Whether it’s exercise, journaling, or meditating, any day-in-day-out grind can wear a person down.

For ‘520AceOfSpades,’ consistency is his bread and butter. It’s what he thrives on. For the past 631 days, the player known only as ‘520AceOfSpades’ has powered up his live-streaming setup, registered for a smattering of tournaments on ACR Poker, and entertained his community of viewers.

631 days in a row. And counting! Bodily functions aside, have you ever done anything for that many days consecutively?

“It kind of just happened,” he tells us. “I was encouraged by some other streamers on the Kick platform to start – they told me I had the perfect name for it. I started off with my laptop and a secondary screen that could barely handle streaming and playing at the same time. I just started talking to myself, you know?”

“It was funny; my wife would ask who I’m talking to and I’d tell her, ‘I’m just practicing.’”

We just kept going and going

After streaming on Kick for 100 days straight, ‘520AceOfSpades’ heard about the Stream Big competition on Twitch – run by ACR Poker. “I was one of, like, 50 people competing. Unfortunately, I didn’t get picked up at that time,” he tells us. Still, he continued to clock in each day – driven by more than just an opportunity for affiliation. “I talked to my wife and she was like, ‘Why don’t you keep going? You’re having fun with it and you really enjoy playing poker too.’”

With his wife’s encouragement, he kept at it.

613 days, but the end is not in sight yet. How long can 520AceOfSpades go for? 613 days, but the end is not in sight yet. How long can 520AceOfSpades go for?

In streaming, consistency can be a linchpin for success. In that regard, there aren’t many poker streamers on the same level as ‘520AceOfSpades’ and ACR Poker began to take notice. “I hit 100 days and I was like, ‘What’s next?’ We just kept going and going,” he continues. “Eventually, in January of last year, ACR Poker reached out and asked if I wanted to join the Stormers team. How cool is that?”

After joining the ACR Poker Stormers, ‘520AceOfSpades’ kept his streaming streak alive – taking to the Twitch streets from a variety of interesting locations. “We just keep rolling,” he explains. “I streamed on vacation, I streamed in Las Vegas when I went to the World Series of Poker for the first time. I streamed from Disneyland, from the middle of the Pacific Ocean.”

And he has no plans to stop any time soon.

“From an extreme perspective, I want to stream as many days as I possibly can, and, to be fair, I don’t think anything is going to stop me – aside from internet connectivity," he says. ”I’ve just made it a habit, and it’s been surreal to see the channel’s growth.”

'A positive, generous community'

While he’s clearly in the streaming game for the long haul, ‘520AceOfSpades’ also wants the community he’s building to be a welcoming environment for his viewers.

“I’ve connected with so many people and made so many friends,” he continues. “I want the stream to be a positive, generous community — a stream that’s passionate about the game and loves the game for what it is. It’s much more of a community than a crusher-type environment.”

Every night of the week, ‘520AceOfSpades’ hosts a home game on ACR Poker. It’s an affordable buy-in – just $1 – and an event that his community rallies around in more ways than one. “Some nights, people will win a tournament and donate money to the prize pool. There are hundreds of community dollars given away here in the stream,” says ‘520AceOfSpades.’

“I want to see this community expand,” he continues. “If you see a lot of people around a poker table laughing and having a good time, there’s going to be a lot more interest. I think there needs to be more positivity; there needs to be more genuine community building.”

It's no surprise that '520AceOfSpades' has built such a positive, fun-loving community of viewers – that's how he was introduced to the game. "That's really what I grew up with. My parents would play nickel-dime stud games when I was growing up," he tells us. "Their friends would come over and have a good time. They weren't there to make money, they were there to have a good time."

If you're looking to join one of Twitch poker's most welcoming stream communities, stop by the '520AceOfSpades' channel – maybe you'll be reminded of why you started to play this game in the first place.
