The action from PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) continues to come fast and furious as the series rolls through its second week of play.
Andras 'probirs' Nemeth claimed his fourth career SCOOP title in Event 55-H: $1,050 NLHE 7-Max Turbo PKO. A field of 210 entrants ponied up the entry fee to create a prize pool of $210,000 -- half of which went to the bounty pool and the other half to the top 29 finishers.
Nemeth, a Hungarian live and online crusher, took home a total score of $47,218, which includes the $17,945 first place prize, plus $29,273 in bounties. In the process, he denied Canadian professional Matthew 'Stumpfed' Stumpf from scoring his third SCOOP title of the series. Stumpf took home two SCOOP titles just one day prior to finishing runner-up to Nemeth in Event 55-H.
Other notables to make the final table included Felipe 'lipe piv' Boianovsky, Matas 'NoTilit' Cikinas, and Roman 'Gogac sniper' Hrabec.

SCOOP leaderboard races heat up
Meanwhile, as the completed events pile up and the series prize pool dwindles, the hotly-contested leaderboard race sees a number of familiar faces hovering in the upper echelons. The leaderboard race should continue to heat up as the series progresses.
In the fall of 2023, Benny 'RunGodlike' Glaser saw his claim on the WCOOP Overall series leaderboard falter at the eleventh hour. It was Patrick 'pads1161' Leonard who managed to outdo his fellow countryman and claim the title as his.
On the SCOOP 2024 Overall leaderboard the top 20 names include: Simon 'C.Darwin2' Mattsson, Patrick 'pads1161' Leonard, Niklas 'lena900' Astedt, Lex 'L.Veldhuis' Veldhuis, and Benjamin 'Spraggy' Spragg. Glaser notably sits just outside the Top 20 mark, but remains well within striking distance as it only takes a few big cashes or wins to climb the ranks.
In the High tier leaderboard, Mattsson reigns supreme for the time being, but with the likes of Leonard, Astedt, Stumpf, Adrian 'Amadi_017' Mateos, Veldhuis, and Nemeth not far off, it's far from over.
It's tough to say who will stand atop either of these prestigious leaderboards at the end of SCOOP and there's only one way to find out -- check back with PokerOrg as we continue to bring you all the big stories from PokerStars 2024 SCOOP.
