The 2022 edition of Americas Cardroom's prominent "Venom" tournament has wrapped its weeks-long run with "Manuma29", a player from Argentina, becoming the newest ACR-formed online millionaire. Manuma29, whose real-life identity wasn't released, topped a 4,017-entry field to claim the event's $1,169,951 winner's prize, the largest share of a $10,042,500 prize pool.
The event narrowly eclipsed its aggressive $10 million guarantee, which found ACR offering plenty of satellites and other opportunities to enter besides the $2,650 direct entry. The Venom tourney was the focal point of ACR's ongoing 21st anniversary celebration.
Manuma29 held more than a 2:1 edge over "G26" as the event's final hand began, with the chips going all in pre-flop and Manuma29 having AcQc to G26's Ah8c. Both players hit the TcAdKc flop, but it was all over on the turn as the Jc gave Manuma29 the unlikely and insurmountable royal flush. A meaningless As river card ended action in the event.
G26 earned $879,723 as the runner-up, while the U.S.'s Andrew "Amo4sho" Moreno, continuing a string of impressive performances in recent months, finished in third for $633,681.
The seven-player final table included players from four different countries, according to ACR. Besides Argentina and the U.S., players from India and Brazil also made the Venom final.
Here are the final-table finishers, with payouts and real-life identities where known:
1. Manuma29 – $1,169,951
2. G26 – $879,723
3. Andrew "Amo4sho" Moreno – $633,681
4. Stephen "KODA420" Sweatt – $391,657
5. Colton "CBALLBOY" Blomberg – $219,930
6. br3ak_th3_b4nk – $118,501
7. Anuj "brockLesnar95" Yadav – $94,399.50
ACR has yet to announce the dates for the next edition of the Venom, instead saying "soon" regarding upcoming specifics. The event remains the largest single tournament offered by the site.
