Robbie Strazynski is returning to Las Vegas this summer for another round of dealer's choice cash games at Bellagio.
After a cancelation earlier this year, the Mixed Game Festival has set aside two different weeks for the popular cash game gathering, starting at the dawn of the WSOP from May 31-June 4.
They'll take a brief break before returning from June 7-11 to do it all again.
Action traditionally kicks off at noon each day with as many $4/8 and $8/16 tables as demand will allow, with some higher stakes available if enough interest show up.
But it's not all fun and games. There are some prizes, too. The MGF has partnered with BetMGM Poker once again and players will enjoy a shot at theree different $3,500 seats to this summer's $4M BetMGM Championship.
Three $3,500 seats on offer
The seats will be given away on three different festival days:
- June 2 - Players will do a blind PLO flip at each active table at some point during the day. Winners move on to a second flip where the winner takes the seat.
- June 7 - A random table and seat will be drawn at an unknown time. If the player can answer three poker trivia questions, they're on their way to ARIA for the BetMGM Championship.
- June 11 - Active, seated players will participate in a special chip-counting competition.
Mixed games sweep Vegas
Robbie's festival is just one of many mixed-game opportunities that have cropped up around town, but the MGF is one of the originals. Originally at Westgate, a group of non-hold'em enthusiasts has been gathering under the CardplayerLifestyle banner for years before the first official MGF in 2021.
Since then, the extended variety of poker formats has taken on new popularity in the WSOP counter-programming around town.
Orleans will offer an expanded schedule of mixed events throughout the summer, along with Golden Nugget, which has put forth a smaller schedule with an afternoon non-hold'em event on a majority of the days from June 3-28.
Aria will also offer a growing number of mixed events throughout its Poker Classic and WSOP has introduced several in the last few years, including badugi and Double Board Bomb Pot Omaha.
It's all part of a summer renaissance of non hold'em events, and it is reflected around the world on tours like the APT, where mixed games are experiencing rapid growth in Asia. The Mixed Game Festival was among those who saw the vision first with a welcoming atmosphere to learn new games and enjoy good competition just a short walk across the street from the WSOP.
Be sure to find a day on your summer schedule to stop by Bellagio.
