Online poker players in Pennsylvania and New Jersey will have the opportunity to win a live-poker road trip to nearby Maryland throughout next week, courtesy of BetMGM Poker. BetMGM, which is currently available in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, will be running online satellites and super-satellites August 7-13 that will feed into a pair of $535 online qualifiers on BetMGM Poker, where the top five finishers in each state's qualifier will receive a $5,000 travel package to late August's Potomac Poker Open Championship.
The PPOC serves as the main event for the 13-day Potomac Poker Open at Maryland's National Harbor casino, which begins on August 16 and runs through August 28, including 19 events in total. The PPO Championship wraps up the series with a four-day run beginning on August 25. The week-long satellite and super-satellite feeder events are priced at $100 and $20, respectively.
Each of the ten seat packages to be awarded to the Potomac Poker Open Championship includes a $3,000 buy-in. The packages, valued at $5,000, also include three nights of lodging at National Harbor and a $500 travel stipend for the Pennsylvania and New Jersey winners to make their way to National Harbor, which is just south of Washington D.C.
The championship event will offer a million-dollar prize-pool guarantee. All of the online seat winners will be required to play the second starting flight, Day 1B, which takes place on August 26.
“After the success of previous omni-channel events with ARIA and Borgata, BetMGM Poker is happy to offer online players a chance to qualify for the Potomac Poker Open Championship at MGM National Harbor,” said BetMGM's Director of Poker, Luke Staudenmaier. “We will continue to find ways to support our MGM partners as they continue to offer championship poker across the country.”
