The 2025 WSOP Main Event drew 9,735 entries and is now down to its final nine players. We could see history made when the action resumes on Tuesday at the Horseshoe Casino in Las Vegas.
Leo Margets became just the second woman in history to make the Main Event final table. The only other woman to achieve this was Barbara Enright, who finished fifth in 1995 — and the field was only 277 deep then. Margets has outlasted 9,727 players to claim her place at the 2025 Main Event final table and could become the first woman ever to win it.
Michael ‘The Grinder’ Mizrachi is also looking to make history. He won the $50K Poker Players Championship for the fourth time this year. No one has ever won the PPC and the Main Event in the same year. If Mizrachi does it, it’s a feat we doubt will ever be repeated.
The rest of the final table is made up of Kenny Hallaert, Adam Hendrix, Braxton Dunaway, Daehyung Lee, Luka Bojovic, Jarod Minghini, and chip leader John Wasnock.
So who are the experts backing to win it all?
Brain Rast (3-time PPC winner)
I'm happy a woman has finally made the final table. If I had no interest, I would want her to win because I think it would be good for poker. I don't see how it doesn't encourage more women to play and compete.
Who do I actually selfishly want to win? I've got a couple of dimes on the Korean guy, [Daehyung] Lee at 40/1.
Who do I think will win? You have to pick The Grinder. He’s the favorite, second in chips, and not far off the leader. He definitely has an edge over the chip leader. Jared Bleznick has called him the Stu Unger of our generation.
If he won the PPC and the Main in the same year, it would be maybe the greatest WSOP feat of all time. You have to really tip your hat to him. And if he wins the PPC and the Main, that is quite the statement moving forward for the Hall of Fame.
Maria Ho (4-time Main Event 'Last Woman Standing')
I think this final table lineup is the best we’ve seen in a long time, with so many amazing storylines, especially Leo Margets.
Who do I want to win? I want Leo to win because it’s about time poker has its first woman WSOP Main Event champ. Women poker players are more competitive than ever, and I’m so proud to see her there!
Seth Davies ($44,639,494 in tournament winnings)
I think it's a really sweet mix at the final table. Having Kenny [Hallaert] there is great. He's a longtime poker pro and industry guy. He’s been a floor man and does a great service to the poker world every year by making his big summer schedule.
I also love that Leo Margets is there. She’s another longtime grinder and pro. She’s a sweet girl and always easy to root for.
Who do I want to win the Main Event? I want Leo Margets to win it. It would be really cool to have a woman win and she's super deserving. Who do I think will win? I think she will win. I think she's going to get it done, and hopefully things go her way.
Shiina Okamoto (Back-to-back WSOP Ladies champion)
I am really excited and rooting for Leo Margets. Honestly, there aren’t enough women right now who can compete with men at this level. If she makes history, it could inspire many other women to believe they can do the same.
Christina Gollins (WSOPC ring winner)
I am super happy with the mix of the final table. I think it's a good representation of some of the best in the game, and I love that there's a woman there.
I want [Adam] Hendrix to win. If not him, then I want Leo Margets.
Who do I think will win? Either Hendrix or [Michael] Mizrachi. They've just got more experience under the bright lights.
Mizrachi has the momentum after winning the PPC bracelet already, and Hendrix is just very thirsty to get a huge title on his poker resume.
Bryn Kenney (Number one on the all-time money list)
I love seeing a recreational player as the chip leader, and I love seeing a woman at the final table. It’s also great to see Kenny [Hallaert] and The Grinder there.
I was moved by the player that is 9/9 at the final table [Jarod Minghini]. He talked about his brother who passed away and said he could feel him with him as he was playing.
What a super cool Main Event final table for poker fans.
