Live poker is picking up in Las Vegas, and the next week ahead at Venetian is further proof we're moving past COVID-19, and towards a return to normalcy. The upcoming poker tournaments at the mega resort guarantee big bucks and are sure to attract large fields.
From Sunday April 11 to Saturday April 17, as part of its monthly DeepStack series, the Venetian poker room is guaranteeing more than $540,000 in prize money over five events, with buy-ins ranging from $400 to $800. There are going to be some huge winners in Las Vegas next week.
What to play at Venetian
Starting with Sunday's event (1:10 am start) — Event #16 of the series — a $400 buy-in no-limit hold'em tournament, which guarantees at least a $20,000 prize pool, pros starved to get some tournament action have a golden opportunity this coming week. On Monday (April 12), the guarantee is up to $100,000, but the buy-in for Event #17 (11:10 am start) is the same ($400).
A similar tournament runs on Tuesday. The buy-in remains the same and the prize pool is again guaranteed to hit $100,000. Wednesday's event also costs $400 to enter, but the guarantee is back down to $20,000. On Thursday, however, the stakes are being raised. Event #22 of the Venetian DeepStack Series, a no-limit hold'em tournament, costs $800 to enter and features a $300,000 guaranteed prize pool.
Day 1a begins at 11:10 am on Thursday, followed by Day 1b on Friday (at the same time), and Day 1c on Saturday. The remaining players will return to the Las Vegas Strip mega resort on Sunday, April 18 for Day 2.
More ahead at Las Vegas poker room
The Venetian has long been one of the top places to play poker in Las Vegas. The upcoming week isn't the only big week for the card room. The DeepStack Series continues until April 25, and culminates with the $600 No-Limit Hold'em Ultimate Stack event, which guarantees $200,000 in prize money.
There won't be a World Series of Poker in Las Vegas this summer. Instead, the series is moving to the fall. But the Venetian still has plans to host its annual popular DeepStack Championship Series from late May until the beginning of August. The full schedule isn't yet out, but players can expect some major events, including an MSPT and WPT DeepStack tournament, along with dozens of other mid-stakes tournaments, and millions of dollars will be up for grabs.
