A video posted on X today appears to show a player on ACR Poker using a real-time assistance (RTA) overlay. The player's identity was redacted in the video, which has now been viewed over 110,000 times.
The video was initially posted by TrenirusGTO itself to promote its software, and was later highlighted by a player called 'firenkes' who wrote: "This is RTA!!... This is using a solver during the hand against real people... If sites do not track and block this, it is just legalized cheating. It kills recreational games, flattens skill into whoever has the overlay open, and ruins the product for everyone else."
ACR Poker issues statement
ACR Poker issued a lengthy statement confirming that an investigation was underway to identify the player and account involved, and determine whether any additional accounts or players were involved.
It wrote: "We are aware of the video circulating on social media showing TrenirusGTO being used in real time alongside ACR Poker. RTA is strictly prohibited on ACR Poker. The conduct shown in this video - using a tool to provide GTO-based or other strategic assistance during a live hand - violates our Security and Game Integrity rules.
"RTA has no place on ACR Poker. We take the integrity of our games and the trust of our players extremely seriously, and we will continue to take decisive action against the use of prohibited tools."
ACR Poker CEO Phil Nagy also posted a response to the video. He said ACR Poker is the "last place you want to use RTA on," adding: "We catch you, we ban you for life."
Pads, Moneymaker react to video
UK pro and online legend Patrick 'Pads' Leonard called it "very scary", before adding: "The scary thing is this is less than 1% of the actual big scary RTA news that every reg has been speaking nonstop about for the last week."
Matt Berkey pointed to AI making tools like this increasingly easy to build.
He wrote, "With how easy it is to build tools using AI now, it's not really a question of if there is RTA going on (it probably hasn't been a question for years), but rather how good is the real time info they receive. I really struggle to envision an ending that isn't the operators and the cheats making all the money."
ACR ambassador Chris Moneymaker called out TrenirusGTO directly, writing, "This s**t is not improving your game. It is blatant cheating and anyone caught using it will have their funds confiscated."
It's another salvo in the tech war that's being waged between sites and cheats. The difference this time is that the software provider itself is openly promoting a prohibited use of its product.
With AI making it increasingly easy to build sophisticated tools, the fear among players is that the war is escalating – and the pressure is now on operators to respond.
