The WSOP is in full swing in Las Vegas, but online wheels are still turning, and it was $100,000 Mystery Bounty Main Event time on 888poker. The aromatically-named 'SmellyRodent' from the UK came out on top to bag the title and $7,886 to mark a memorable Magic Monday.

Mystery Bounty formats are exceptionally popular everywhere, though you might be hard pushed to believe it with the reaction of one of this week’s $1 million winners at the WSOP in Vegas.

However, in the world of online poker, no one hears you scream (unless you happen to be streaming), and there were doubtless plenty of whoops of delight and despair thrown in from the 1,012 runners along the way.

How do you spot a FakeAustrian?

That number times the $109 buy-in meant the $100k guarantee was reached, with $7.4k up top from the regular prize pool and a $10k bounty sitting astride the bonus prize list.

'Micou8' of Canada grabbed that $10,000 bounty but didn’t make it to the final table, which saw the smallest stacked 'FakeAustrian' enter with the biggest bounty.

It didn’t help them to turn their 11BBs into more than eighth place, though, while biggest stack, 'odnolya', found themselves a podium spot.

You can watch the final table with commentary from the excellent David Tuchman and Nick Wealthall below.

Three-way dance

The three-way battle for supremacy was evenly-matched until the Ukrainian player got on the wrong end of a classic flip.

'Rodent’s' pre-flop three-bet was four-bet jammed on by 'Odolnya', leaving the Brit with a tricky decision.

Tuchman and Wealthall, on comms duty on the 888poker TwitchTV channel, weren’t convinced – the latter asking, “What is he hoping to see?"—but the call eventually came and the tens were ahead.

Brit picks up the win

Odnolya’s fumes were picked off next, and just like that, we were heads-up, with 'Smetana.ru' flying the German flag against the Union Jack.

A deal lessened the impact of any unexpected blows, and that’s exactly what occurred when SmellyRodent’s rather hopeful shove was called.

And with that rough beat it was effectively over, 'Smetana' giving best two hands later.
