It’s Rock ’N’ Roll time for poker fans as the WPT hits Hollywood, Florida. The 2023 WPT Seminole Rock ‘N’ Roll Poker Open is the final main tour stop before the WPT World Championship plays out at Wynn Las Vegas in December.
Running now until November 29 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, there are eight more days of action before the $3,000,000 guaranteed Main Event.
That gives you plenty of time to satellite in or otherwise book your seat for the biggie, perhaps courtesy of the $400 buy-in Deepstack opener, which boasts eight starting flights (up to Saturday November 18) and a $2 million guarantee.
The $3,500 Main Event has two opening days on November 24 and 25, and the final table will be livestreamed on November 29. Players will be looking to follow in the footsteps of last year’s champion, Andrew Wilson, who scooped the title and $785,800 and had his name etched on the coveted Mike Sexton Champions Cup.
Englishman Wilson topped a field of 1,541 entries and saw off a final table that included defending champ Gediminas Uselis, three-time WPT champ Brian Altman, eventual WPT Player of the Year winner Chad Eveslage, and heads-up opponent Joshua Kay.
With the $4,920,800 prizepool smashing the $2 million guarantee, the WPT has upped this year’s guarantee to a whopping $3 million – and we're expecting that to be crushed.
The $1 million GTD Super High Roller on November 27 will give bigger bankrolls another shot if their Main Event hopes are dashed early, and there are a host of other events on the packed schedule. It’s a busy time for the WPT gang, with the hotly-anticipated $40 million guaranteed WPT World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas in December.
