He did it. He actually did it. Around 1 am on Tuesday morning, Chad Evelsage wrote his name into poker history as he became the first player to sweep the Dealer’s Choice events bracelets in the same WSOP, in the game’s relatively short history as a bracelet event the WSOP.
Just a few days ago Eveslage won his second career bracelet by winning Event #5: $1,500 Dealers Choice 6-Handed and now he has captured his third overall in Event #10; $10,000 Dealers Choice 6-Handed Championship.
And there were some who were questioning if Eveslage is even of this world following the seismic accomplishment that seems to have come from somewhere in the cosmos.
This story developed late on Sunday night as it became apparent that it was possible when Eveslage took the chip lead with a few tables left in the 10k event as he looked to win two bracelets in the first week of the 2023 WSOP.
The $10,000 Dealers Choice Championship has been known to create big stories since its inception in 2015. Most notably from Adam Friedman who did the unthinkable three-peat of the event from 2018-2021 to confirm himself as the Dealer’s Choice master.
Now, in the year 2023 at least, we have the current Dealer’s Choice king. Eveslage made relatively quick work of the $10,000 final table after taking the chip lead and never allowed his opponents to make a serious run at it when it came down to winning time at the final table as he eventually capped it off by denying Dutch Boyd his fourth bracelet after beating him heads up and winning the $311,428 which will go nicely on top of the two bracelets and early lead on the WSOP player of the year leaderboard.
Not to mention, his win will also make anyone who took him for value in the $25,000 fantasy draft very happy.
