In celebration of the addition of Jason Koon to the PokerStars family, the site has put together a special freeroll tournament for players in its North American pools.
The 'Chasin Jason' event will offer players in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and New Jersey a chance at winning not only a highly-coveted Gold Pass to the European Poker Tour (EPT) stop in Monte Carlo, but also a share of a $10,000 prize pool.
The tournament kicks off for Pennsylvania-based players on December 21, while players in the shared liquidity pool of Michigan and New Jersey will battle it out the following day, December 22.
It all sounds too good to be true, right? Well, there's a slight catch. The only way to win the Gold Pass – which includes travel and accommodation – is by eliminating Koon himself from the tournament. Only one Gold Pass stands up for grabs in each event, meaning if you get a shot at Koon's knockout, you better not miss.
“I’m excited to celebrate my new partnership with PokerStars in the best way possible — at the tables,” said Koon. "But don’t think I’ll go easy on anyone. If you want the Gold Pass, you’ll have to earn it by taking me out. Game on!”
