On Friday, amidst the glitz and glamour of Monte Carlo, the PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) kicked off action in Event #8: €100,000 High Roller for One Drop.
Thus far, the event has garnered a field of 63 entrants to generate a prize pool of €6,048,000. With late registration open until the start of play on Day 2, those figures could increase. With Day 1 play concluded, only 32 players remain in the hunt.
It's been a busy day for the tournament staff as multiple players have been sent to the rebuy cage – including end of Day 1 chip leader Daniel Dvoress, Jason Koon, Jean-Noel Thorel, Kayhan Mokri, and Wiktor Malinowski.
Mikalai Vaskaboinikau leads the re-entry battle with six bullets fired already, according to the PokerStars Live app. With 3% of each buy-in headed to support the One Drop Foundation's charitable aims, every rebuy is for a good cause.
More big buy-ins to come
While there's still more action to come in the €100,000 High Roller for One Drop over the weekend, some of the high rollers (those who have busted and don't intend to re-enter) already have their eye on the €250,000 EPT Super High Roller which kicks off on May 4.
Throughout its storied history, PokerStars has only ever held one other event at this price point – a $250,000 Super High Roller at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure in 2023.
