We're a little less than three weeks out from the start of the World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) festival in Panama City, Panama.
And it's a good time to battle on the Circuit. In September, the WSOPC ascended to new heights with a record-setting 2,090 entries in its Main Event at TCH Social in Austin, Texas. In upstate New York, meanwhile, cards are currently in the air as the WSOPC Turning Stone series gets underway with $3M in guaranteed prize pools – the largest in the stop's history.
Now, as anticipation for WSOPC Panama continues to build, it's time to take a deep dive into the festival and what players can expect.
Here's everything you need to know before making the trip to Panama City.
The when, the what, and the where
The Sortis Hotel, Spa, & Casino will play host to the WSOPC Panama festival from November 5-15.
The $1,700 buy-in, $500K GTD Main Event is the highlight of the schedule, but with a total of 12 Circuit ring events on the slate, there won't be any shortage of action at the tables. Plus, with $5,000 WSOP Paradise packages going to each ring event winner, there's even more reason to make the trip.
Aside from the Main Event, players can battle for WSOPC bling in the $500 Mini Main Event, the $300 Gladiator, or the $600 Mystery Bounty.
For high stakes players making the trip, there's a $2,500 High Roller Bounty and a $3,000 High Roller.
And if none of those two-card events tickle your fancy, the four-card streets will be alive and well down in Panama City for the $400 PLO4 Turbo, the $400 PLO4 Championship, and the $600 PLO4/PLO5.
Satellite tournaments will also run throughout the series, awarding entry into the larger ring events at a discounted rate. These satellite events will follow the milestone format where players must reach a certain threshold of chips to earn their seats.
Promos galore
If you need any added incentive to head down to Panama City, the WSOPC has several promotional opportunities that you can take advantage of.
As mentioned, all 12 ring event winners will receive a $5,000 WSOP Paradise package – along with, of course, the first-place prize money.
For the true grinders, the festival includes a $10,000 series leaderboard. In order to qualify, you'll need three cashes from the 12 ring events – each cash comes with a point value based on the WSOP Player of the Year scoring system. Whoever gets the most points wins the $10,000.
For players who qualify for the WSOPC Panama Main Event via one of the many satellites now running on GGPoker, a unique shot at extra cash awaits – but you'll have to take out 2025 WSOP Main Event champ Michael Mizrachi to get it.
If you qualify for the WSOPC Panama Main Event on GGPoker and then go on to knock Mizrachi out of the tournament, you'll earn a bounty equal to your buy-in.
And if you know for sure that you're going to play the WSOPC Panama Main Event on either Day 1A or 1B, you can get an 11-night stay in Panama City for free. Message +507 6731 5764 on WhatsApp to make arrangements.
All players who partake in at least one of the WSOPC Panama ring events will also earn an opportunity to battle it out at the WSOP Super Circuit in Punta Cana at a discounted rate.
For $7,500, you'll receive a $10,000 package for the series that includes a $3,500 Main Event ticket and two entries for $500 events. Send an email to the Hard Rock Casino Punta Cana to take advantage of the offer.
Exploring Panama City
If you've never been to Panama, the WSOPC festival in its capital city presents a perfect opportunity to tick the country off of your bucket list – and there's plenty of excitement to be had away from the tables.
The neighborhoods of San Francisco, Costa del Este, and Casco Antiguo are well-known for their modern restaurant scene. If you're looking for a more local, outdoor dining experience, check out the Cinta Costera.
For nature lovers, the city offers several parks for hiking, birding, and wildlife observation. And if you're looking for the best view of the city's skyline, check out the Metropolitan Park. Alternatively, you can chart a course at sea to explore the Amador Causeway – a string of four islands connected by rock exposed during the construction of the Panama Canal.
In terms of getting around the city, public transportation services like the subway and bus lines allow quick and inexpensive movement alongside taxis and ride share apps.
The World Series of Poker Circuit International Panama runs from November 5-15 at the Sortis Hotel, Spa, & Casino and offers a schedule of 12 ring events, plus plenty of side action.
