Following the action on Day 5, only 13 players remain in the hunt for the PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) Barcelona Main Event title.
The €5,300 buy-in tournament drew a field of 1,823 entrants to generate a prize pool of €8,841,550, with €1,370,050 for the eventual winner.
After five days of intense play, that sum – and the coveted EPT Barcelona title – is now within reach.
Manuel Ferrari holds the overnight chip lead headed into Day 6 play. The Italian is the only player with an eight-figure stack to work with. Spain's Jose Criado and Gerard Carbo sit second and third in the chip counts, each hoping to make history as the first Spaniard to win the EPT Barcelona Main Event and keep the trophy on its home soil.
The 13 remaining players have a payout of €81,350 locked up – but there's much more to play for.
When the action resumes tomorrow, players will return to the 50K/100K (100K) blind level as the field thins down to a final table.

For PokerOrg Pick 3 owners with players still in the hunt, Day 5 was a good one. Both of the remaining Pick 3 draft choices survived the late-stage carnage.
Joris Ruijs and Michael Dwyer will return for Day 6 play – and with each pay ladder they make, their Pick 3 point tallies will increase.

Former champs out on Day 5
The deep runs of two former EPT Barcelona Main Event champions – John Juanda and Sebastian Malec – caught the attention of the poker world over the last few days.
When Day 5 began, 28 players remained in the fight and the possibility for either Juanda or Malec to make history as the first two-time EPT Barcelona champion was growing increasingly realistic.
Unfortunately, the poker gods wouldn't allow it. Malec bowed out in 21st and Juanda followed later in the day, exiting in 15th place.
