Final table action from ACR Poker’s $10M GTD Venom no-limit hold’em (NLH) tournament will stream from 4:35pm ET today, April 30, at the site’s Twitch channel.
The first Day 1 for both of the $2.5K buy-in Venom events — a $2M GTD pot-limit Omaha tournament also took place (see below) — ran back on April 13. Five starting flights were scheduled, with another added this past weekend in an effort to reach the 4,000 entrants required to cover the huge guaranteed prize pool.
By the time registration had closed the NLH event field had reached 3,735, leaving ACR Poker to cover the $662,500 shortfall and giving players some welcome extra value. The PLO event attracted 832 entrants, covering its $2M guarantee by an extra $80K.
The nine players returning to play out the finale of the NLH event have each locked up a payout of at least $120,890. The $5.2M in prize money for the final nine includes two seven-figure prizes, with close to $1.1M going to the runner-up and over $1.5M set aside for the winner — assuming no deals are struck.
Leading the field heading into the final table is ‘FedorFoldz’, with a stack of around 91 big blinds, closely followed by WSOP bracelet winner Minh ‘Bow2Me’ Nguyen just a couple of blinds behind. US pro Ryan ‘PLOtential’ Laplante sits in fifth with a shade under 40 bbs, while ACR Poker team pro Katie Lindsay is the short stack with around 20 bbs.

PLO Venom winner banks $436K
With a smaller field — 832 compared with 3,735 — the Venom pot-limit Omaha event concluded earlier than its NLH sibling, drawing to a close yesterday and awarding the $436,926 up top to ‘Leko911’.
Six-figure payouts were awarded to the tournament’s top five finishers, including runner-up ‘igds3’ who took $316,763 for their deep run to second place.
One player who made the final table but failed to crack the top 5 was Jesse ‘GGsucks’ Lonis, one of the standout stars of the game over the past few years. Lonis eventually finished in 6th place for $69,992 after falling afoul of one of PLO’s pitfalls: flopping the nuts and losing to a redraw.
Holding 
in the small blind, Lonis called a small raise from the cutoff, ‘idgs3’, as did the big blind. Lonis hit the 
flop hard, making the Broadway straight, and check-called a quarter-pot sized bet from the pre-flop raiser.
Now heads-up on the 
turn, Lonis checked again, ‘idgs3’ bet a little over half-pot and Lonis shoved. With both players all-in, Lonis’ opponent showed 
for the tied Broadway straight with a redraw to the diamond flush. Unfortunately for Lonis, the 
on the river delivered that flush and Lonis hit the rail.
