The Global Poker Index has announced that it is taking public submissions for candidates for consideration for numerous Global Poker Awards categories that are likely to be among those included for selecting the best of the poker world in 2023.
While a handful of "Fan's Choice" categories have been open for public nominations in prior years, this is the first time the Global Poker Index has issued such a public call for possible nominees in most categories, as part of its continuing effort to ensure that deserving nominees aren't overlooked.
The poker public is invited by GPI to submit names and entities in 19 different categories that are among those being considered for the upcoming awards, which will be held later this winter at the PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas. The GPI notes that these are not official categories at this time, nor are submissions made by the public considered to be formal nominations, but they can and will help to shape the official nominations list that will be released in the coming weeks.
When visiting the public submission page, poker fans are presented with 19 different categories. Public submissions can include up to three entries in each category, with additional space for more entries in any categories also provided.
The 19 categories where the poker public can up-vote some of their favorites from 2023 are as follows:
- Best Final Table Performance
- Fans Choice: Best Hand
- Best Streamer
- Best Vlogger
- Best Short-Form Content Creator (avg 30 secs to 3min videos)
