GPI/HTM, the parent entity of the Global Poker Awards, has opened four "Fans Choice" awards to voting by the public from now through Monday, February 6, 2023. Fans may select their favorites in the People’s Choice for Poker Personality, Best Trophy, Best Hand, and Fave Livestream categories.
This week's voting represents the semifinal stage of the Fans Choice award process. Four finalists in each of the four categories will be announced on Tuesday, February 7, and a second round of voting among the finalists will then begin. The winners in each of the four categories will be announced at the fourth annual Global Poker Awards, which will be held on March 3 in Las Vegas, with the ceremony to be live-streamed on PokerGO as well.
Fans of poker may vote this week in the four categories and again when the finalists have been announced. Only one vote per round per category, for any fan's email and IP address, is allowed. The Poker Personality semifinal stage is actually a call for nominations, with the top four poker personalities to be the finalists in next week's finalist round. In the other three Fans Choice categories, the fields have already been winnowed through a preliminary stage of selections conducted by the GPA's blue-ribbin voting committee.
