Daniel Negreanu might not have waded into the most talked-about hand in years on X, but he has delivered his verdict – calling Kristen Foxen’s critics “bonehead idiots.”

Kristen Foxen folded kings on the final table of the $100,000 Triton Jeju Main Event after a UTG shove, a call, and a reshove in front of her – a decision that quickly went viral and divided opinion across the poker world.

Watch it play out below.

Foxen finished fourth for a career-best $1.45 million. Ben Tollerene won the $3.8M top prize – also the largest score of his career.

Is Kristen Foxen judged differently?

In the video posted on his YouTube channel, Negreanu said, “I didn't chime in on Twitter. All of you would have said, [it would be] an easy fold with queens. What about kings? If queens are so easy, why are kings such a slam-dunk call?”

Negreanu said Foxen wouldn’t need to be right that often for it to be the correct play.

“When you’re right and someone has aces, you’re like 82% to go bust – more actually, as there are other hands involved.

“I’m not a fan of folding kings. I hate it – she does as well, I’m sure.”

Negreanu also questioned whether Foxen faced harsher criticism because she’s a woman, referencing the backlash following her exit hand at the 2024 WSOP Main Event.

“I’m like the last person in the world to call sexism,” he says. “But I think some people are way too quick to jump down her throat when her results are proven. She’s a winner.”
